My surgery is Nov. 14th and there is a race that I was thinking of signing up for on Dec. 15th. My surgeon told me not to exercise for 2 weeks after surgery, then I can start back slowly. I would register for the shortest distance (5k). Would this be okay one month after rhinoplasty?

The string you pulled on may have been part of the steri-strips that were placed on top of the nose, or if it came out of the skin it may have been a suture used to help secure or line up a graft. Hard to say without knowing what was done. Best to ask your surgeon.
