One dermatologist told me that using Tazorac would help the collagen stimulation along and also help me to heal faster. Would it make any difference to my skin if I stopped using it before going through Fraxel?

Topical Retinoid prior to Fractionated Laser Resurfacing

It is a good idea to apply topical retinoid such as tazoratene or tretinoin every other day for 4-6 weeks or longer prior to laser resurfacing. In my opinion, you may apply topical retinoid up to the night before laser resurfacing. There have been ample studies in the past that has demonstrated synergy and potential prevention of post-treatment pigmentation with topical retinoid application prior to TCA chemical peel.
