Why is coloring gray hair so difficult?

Coloring gray hair requires a different strategy than non-gray or pigment hair types.

Gray hair lacks “background” and “warmth,” and therefore needs those traits to be formulated back into the hair to achieve natural and completely covered results.

Certain hair color shades are formulated specifically to cover high percentages of gray or resistant gray hair.
