Had 440cc and 475cc unders, thru areola. My recovery was pretty smooth, even my surgeon was suprised to see how bruises and swelling going down fast! I don't have swelling anymore and I'm really happy with the results. I didn't work out for 4 weeks at all and then I started easily. I do have my strenght back but I'm so scared to lift! What is normal to feel during work out? I don't feel any pain, just some sort of thickling, I feel something under going on but I can't tell whats normal. Thanks!

Answer: Lifting weights 6 weeks after sub-muscular breast implants. If your plastic surgeon has approved your weight lifting when you should not have a problem. Understand that because you've breast implants beneath the chest muscle you will feel movement of the implant and tightening around the implant with contraction of the pectoralis muscle. This is perfectly normal. However it is always best to check with your plastic surgeon.

Answer: Workout after breast augmentation The best advice is to ask your surgeon his recommendations. The postoperative instructions following surgery vary widely from strenuous activity early to not allowing weight lifting at all. I recommend patients resuming light activity during the first few weeks and gradually progressing to full speed strenuous activity including weight lifting by 6 weeks. There is also a difference between suglandular and subpectoral placement of the implants with weight lifting. Implants on top of the muscle will not have the muscle compression of the implants with weight lifting. In many patients with subpectoral implants this will not be a significant factor and in others it can be annoying or even uncomfortable.
