Antibiotic ointment application on tummy tuck incision

+1

Dear Ultimatepaintballwife,

Antibiotic ointment is applied to prevent infection of the wound.

So when the wound closes, it would be safe to cease the application of the ointment.

Thank you for your inquiry.

When can I stop using ointment after a TT

+1

When the incision is closed and there is no open wound, it is time to stop the antibiotic ointment. Rashes that are red and irritated are common after antibiotic ointment long term use, so they should be discontinued if there is no open area in the incision site.
