Frequently, you could react to the surgical tape or one of the antibiotics. You should see your plastic surgeon in consultation. If your wound is draining, red, oozing, smelly, etc., this could indicate a wound infection which would require treatment including a culture and sensitivity to determine which antibiotics would be most appropriate.

The best course of action is to be seen by your plastic surgeon to determine the cause of the rash/ itch. For example, you may be having an allergic reaction to a medication that should be stopped. Medication can be prescribed to help you with the symptoms of the allergy (if this is the case).
