Difference Between Mineral Makeup and Regular

Marketing, mobocity following and mucho greenbacks touting its performance are the most glaring differences. That said, however, mineral makeup is a lovely finish, fairly easy to use, and is as good as many other types of products available.

Experiment (using the right colour of course) with a few different types at a makeup counter - apply half of your face with mineral and the half with something else. Then look at it in the natural light and see how long both sides of your face look and last over the course of the day. Also take note of what your pals tell you.

For my money, it's just another tool that I use along with airbrush, dual powder, liquid, cream and corrective. It all depends on the person and the event and whether longevity or a few changes are needed (often in print work).

Mineral Makeup typically contains only a handful of ingredients - primarily mineral pigments (iron oxides). As a result, there are fewer ingredients that could potentially clog pores and irritate sensitive skin.

Since mineral makeup is so pigment rich, you only need a little bit to get great coverage, it lasts all day, and leaves skin with a really soft, natural glow. It’s a great choice for women who like a natural look and feel from their makeup and for women with oily or sensitive skin.

Mineral makeup is great for your skin due to nourishing ingredients such as vitamins & antioxidants. It gives a beautiful natural finish while protecting you from harsh environmental free radicals.

None really – great marketing at work. Any good cosmetic that is fragrance free, non comedogenic and non acne-genic will work just as well.

It is all marketing. Here are two examples faux pas of the marketing in action: MINERAL Finish powder - made from corn meal (i know, this is really picky, but) TALC - being classified as a non-mineral by the MMU companies. I understand not wanting talc, but marketing trumps the standard definitions of the words. well, I don't really care, but it is sad to see girls that are so taken by the marketing.
