When concerned about sensitive skin, it is always best to purchase the makeup from a professional makeup artist so she can make the best recommendations for you. A wide variety of mineral makeup sourced from nature is available, as are many hypo-allergenic make-up lines. With the proper skin analysis, a professional can best select what is right for your skin type. Generally, when the skin is sensitive, it is important to calm the skin prior to any makeup application. The brushes that you use should be all natural and kept clean to prevent further irritation.

True Mineral Makeup is the best choice for sensitive skin. The ingredient list should include: mica titanium dioxide zinc oxide iron oxides ...and very little else. Avoid all "mineral makeup" that uses: bismuth oxychloride talc magnesium stearate boron nitride Less is more when it comes to mineral makeup ingredient lists.

Mineral Makeup is a good choice because it typically contains only a handful of ingredients - primarily mineral pigments (iron oxides). As a result, there are fewer ingredients that could potentially clog pores and irritate sensitive skin. Also, look for brands that do not contain parabens (propylparaben, methylparaben, and butylparaben), petrochemicals (butylene glycol and propylene glycol), fragrances, talc, mineral oil, and FD&C and D&C colors. These ingredients have been found to be irritating to some skin types.
