What's the best hair straightener I can buy?

To relax or not....
If our question refers to a chemical relaxer that permanently straightens the hair, leave it to a professional. The chemicals in these products are very strong, and while you might get lucky the first time, the overlapping of product on the second application could cause severe breakage. It's basically no different than bleaching your hair yourself, but with the chemical relaxer, it's not as easy to see the line of demarcation.
If our question refers to a straightener that's used in the blow dry process, then there are plenty of great things to use.
- For fine hair, try Goldwell's 'Nice Balance.' It's a lightweight cream that will help keep frizzy ends straight after blow drying or using a flat iron.
- For thick or coarse hair, try using Davines's 'Relaxing Fluid.' It's a tad heavier and will give coarse hair added weight. It can also be used on dry hair to add definition and shine.
The strongest tip I can give to you is - do not buy a hair straightener. Don’t even think about it. The damage done to your hair can be so great that all you can do is wait for it to grow back. It is not worth the price.
I wouldn't rewire my home on my own instead of hiring an electrician because I don't have the expertise or tools required to do the job properly. Why would you take a do-it-yourself approach to straightening your hair with a very hot piece of equipment that is likely subpar? Why would you risk destroying one of your greatest beauty assets - your hair.
