Most skin care products for oily skin have a lot of alcohol in them, specifically SD40 alcohol, which strips the acid mantle from the skin and is very drying which often kicks the sebaceous glands into overdrive so they produce even more oil. You need products which will hydrate the skin without using oils (especially mineral oil) and that don't contain harsh alcohols. I have found products that is fabulous for oily skin.
Good Luck!
i have combi skin and am in search of a moisturiser to control my oily tzone...and have come up with oils! yes, i was sceptical as to how can oils help oily skin, but with more search into how it has helped ppl with oily skin, there are about 70% which say that some oils are great.
as for cleansers, use a gentle one that wont aggravate the skin, im using paulas choice cleanser and it is VERY gentle yet makes my skin feel clean and soft-ish
Hi,
Try this recipe: (Home Made Mask for Oily Skin)
Ingredients:
6 oz plain yogurt
2 drops of thyme oil
2 drops of mint oil
Juice from 1 lemon
½ packet of yeast
2 Tbsp of starch from potatoes (let potatoes sit in water for several hours; use 2 Tbsp of the milky water)
Method of Preparation:
Combine ingredients in food processor. Apply to entire face paying particular attention to pimples and blackheads. Leave the mask on for ten to twenty minutes. Rinse.
Good Day!!

If you have oily skin that's giving you zits, you should try OXY products. They just did a test on the TODAY show and they performed as well as Proactiv! And they're MUCH cheaper. I definitely recommend trying them out...my face looks great.
My forehead is very oily, while the rest of my face is very dry and sensitive. (My skin is so sensitive that I get ezcema on my hands if I use standard soap.)
I've found that most acne cleansers don't work for my face -- they just over-dry the sensitive areas and encourage additional oil production on my oily forehead.
I don't get inflamed acne often, yet I ALWAYS have whiteheads on my forehead. After a lot of trial and error, I've found that applying salicyclic acid (2%) to my forehead with a cotton swab was the only thing that reduced or prevented whiteheads, without over-drying the rest of my face. Apparently the salicyclic acid dissolves the dead skin cells (keratin) that block pores, causing whiteheads.
Try using 2% salicylic acid on the oily parts of your face twice per day.
