You may wish to join a gym or work with a personal trainer. Exercise will help reduce stress and make you feel better about yourself. Then you can start looking at working with someone to help with your appearance.

Patients often do not realize how much power they have to make themselves look and feel their best. Not only are there fabulous treatments which can cosmetically enhance one’s appearance in dramatic ways, but I have been amazed at the transformations people can have when they finally take the time for themselves, when they make their appearance and good health a priority in their lives.

I’d have to say that exercise is the fountain of youth. A little exercise, every day, builds beautiful people from the inside out!

  • Gold shimmer is a great pick me up in any situation, whether used on the face as makeup, on the body, or in your hair.
  • SolarOil cuticle balm every night makes your nails look like you get weekly manicures.
  • Taking a Fish Oil supplement helps hair and skin looking good, especially if you are dieting.
  • Vaseline for lips, eyelids, cheeks, is a fantastic evening look.
  • Alka Seltzer Original for all aches and pains.
  • Champagne when all else fails!

Quite simply, stop sun exposure and unhealthy diets and lifestyles.

  • You should get out of the sun and into the gym!
  • The benefits of regular relaxation are also important to protect the immune system.
  • Lastly, I wish people would stop using anti-aging treatments that have no scientifically-proven benefit, some of which may actually hinder the skin in its natural rejuvenation process.

For looking and feeling great, I think it's crucial to have a healthy diet, exercise, and good sleep. For me, a good night's sleep is the most important, along with drinking plenty of fresh, non-chlorinated water. Also, whenever possible, eat only organic or locally grown food for ultimate freshness.

Lead healthier lives (i.e. exercise, eat healthy, lose weight). A cheerful, positive attitude goes a long way in the healing process. Stress management and realistic expectations also help achieve satisfaction with aesthetic/cosmetic procedures and your life overall.

I wish all of my patients would:

  1. Eat less processed food. A wonderful writer recently wrote "Avoid anything that your great-great-grandmother would not recognize as food." This excludes much of what you find in the supermarket.
  2. Learn to eat slowly and in small quantities, and learn to love leafy vegetables.
  3. Learn to meditate. For many people, this is the most direct path to peace and wisdom.
  4. Practice a sport that you enjoy on a regular basis. This is better for the body and the spirit than chasing a target heart rate on the elliptical machine. But any exercise is better than none.
  5. Devote time, money and energy to a cause or organization that you believe in. This is a good path to meaning and to getting outside of yourself.
  6. Find and stick with a simple, inexpensive, effective skin care regimen that actually protects and rejuvenates the skin. These products are out there. You just have to use them regularly.

Find a way to work exercise into your daily routine. With a new baby and 3 businesses, I am the first to admit, it can be challenging trying to fit a trip to the gym into my schedule. Instead I look at taking my daughter, Charlotte for a walk as my daily exercise and try to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep per night.

Exercise and eat plenty of antioxidant containing foods.

  • A diet full of colorful fruits and vegetables helps to improve your general feeling and appearance.
  • A diet high in concentrated sweets and starchy foods has a negative effect on your general well being and appearance.
