For women, the quickest way to boost self-confidence is to get a new hairstyle and update your makeup. It’s not that expensive, everyone will tell you how wonderful you look and that will boost your self-confidence. Also, find out what clothing suits your shape and what colours are the most flattering for your natural colouring.

Let’s face it. There is nothing like a compliment to make us feel better about ourselves. When we are complimented over and over again about the same thing or things that relate to each other, self-confidence and self-esteem in that area will naturally get a boost. Positive reactions also lead to self-confidence.

It has been said that how we appear affects how we think, feel and how others react to us. If you make a good impression you will get a positive reaction and are more likely to receive a compliment.

In my work as an image consultant, clients come to me because they lack confidence in one or more areas of their personal image. This is usually caused by negative reactions that eventually lead to negative self-talk. Once we have defined the issue we can work towards diminishing or overcoming the issue with the goal of receiving positive reactions. This will nurture your confidence and boost your self-esteem.

First off, let’s talk about what self-confidence is. Self-confidence is uniquely YOU! Your style, your character, your personality and all the unique features that only belong to you.

To boost up your self-confidence, keep your authenticity; be yourself. People will find you more interesting and attractive as your energy matches your originality.

Some of us are shy people and quite often think that “I am very shy, I can’t do that”. Being shy is not a personality; it’s a “choice”. Are you shy when you are with your family and close friends? Of course not! If being shy is a personality style, you would be exactly the same when you are with them, too. Actually, each time you think that you are shy or you cannot do this and that, you are sabotaging the possibilities around you.

Take a brief moment and think about any time that you achieved the best of yourself any time during your life. I am sure you have a glorious smile in your face and eyes! That’s self-confidence. You can do anything if you really want to do that. Nobody is much better than you; each and every one of us is better than others in one or more subjects. At the end, we all are more or less same.

Do you know that we use a maximum of 5% of our abilities? That means we all have an undiscovered 95% of possibilities built-in our body and personality.

Self confidence is a YES attitude. The day you start truly to say yourself: “If others can do it, I can do it too but with my way and my style! I am unique and there is no other me in the whole world,” I guarantee that you will see the most stylish, the most beautiful of yourself – That is your true image shining inside-out.

Here is my closure as an image consultant: I love what Coco Chanel said decades ago: “If there is no woman, there is no dress”. Be the person to carry the dress and the position you have.

The key is maintaining personal grooming.

As confidence falls it’s really easy to let the simple things fall off. Get your hair cut regularly, keep nails tidy and always check the back of your hair!

Also look around and ask yourself… "Am I stuck in a long gone era?" If the answer is yes, act now. Get a NEW Hairdresser to master the hairdo, a good Beautician to buff up skin and nails and an Image Consultant to help you achieve the look you want. So much of feeling good is about personal confidence – make one step in the right direction and your confidence is guaranteed to soar.
