Which is Better to Do, Go out of State to Get a Procedure Done or Stay Local Due to the Follow Up Visits?

Traveling for procedures
The world is much smaller these days and it is easy to travel for surgery. Still, if there are any complications or other need for follow-up, it is always nice to have the convenience of having your doctor nearby.

Travel for Liposuction
I would not recommend travel for liposuction, unless you are willing to return in the event of a fluid collection or other problem. Sometimes, on out-of-state patients, I require that they stay close for 2 or 3 weeks to monitor for fluid collections.

Is it worth travelling to be treated by the best plastic surgeon?
This is a great question. My best advice is to find the most skilled plastic surgeon and then stay around at least for the first 7-10 days for follow-up.
The most critical decision to be made in achieving the best plastic surgical result is picking the most experienced and talented, that is the best, plastic surgeon possible. Stay Local or Travel for Plastic Surgery?

Your first priority should be to find a plastic surgeon who can achieve your goals safely and (hopefully) in a complication free fashion. If you have a board certified plastic surgeon in your area that fits this criteria, you should stay locally. Otherwise, although not ideal, traveling may be the better option.
