You are very logical in your reasoning but the reason why I do not recommend wearing make-up too soon after surgery despite what it looks like is that the healing skin is extremely sensitive for several weeks after surgery. Even though you are using the same make-up products you did before, your eyelids are very sensitive and can react differently to that same product you used before the surgery. When it is safe to apply make-up, green based colors can usually hide the evidence of bruising/inflammation better than other colors. I hope this helps!
