I'm a military pilot interested in rhinoplasty and a chin implant. My concern is how will the nose and chin be affected if there is some pressure from my oxygen mask applied to the areas about 3 weeks post op. Thanks

Hi Anne-
In these pictures you have a classic tension nose, as seen at the upper lip and bridge fullness. The best thing to do is reduce the septal fullness at the bridge, and shorten the nose at the lip. Tip defining can be performed as well as bony improvements.
The rhinoplasty will cost the same whether the septoplasty is performed or not. Rhinoplasty would provide benefit to shaping the nose and refining it to provide balance.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Nosebleed is not a normal condition, at any time. if you post operative bleeding and you've had a nose surgery, you must query a physician. there are different medical conditions to surgery that can cause bleeding and should be studied. I hope it has been helpful.Translation provided by...
