In some instances wwearing a corset over a tummy tuck may cause increased swelling of the lower abdomen which may not be desireable for wound healing. Discuss the exact type of the garment with your surgeon or his/her staff.

Excessive Compression and Tummy Tuck
No. A compression garment or binder is used to support the skin and give mild to moderate compression. A corset over top of the garment would apply excessive pressure to the skin and may cut off the circulation leading to non healing wounds and/or skin loss.
