Why Can't I Wear Braces Without Pulling out my Decaying Molars First?

I want to wear braces but I don't understand why I need my decaying molars to removed first. The brackets won't reach them anyway right? Thank you for the answers.

Active Disease needs to be Treated

I could get into a discussion about how those decayed teeth are a reservoir of aggressive bacteria that the braces will pretty much act as magnets for those bacteria causing problems, but it's pretty simple, active disease must be treated first. It would be pretty negligent of your orthodontist to look the other way and put on braces while you have active decay.
