Would waxing or removing the hair from the follicle prolong the laser hair treatment? Is it ok to use epilators on the laser treated area if the person is not doing any laser treatments for at least a couple of months? Would it increase the number of required sessions? Thanks.

Preparing for laser hair removal
Prior to laser treatment, it is important to shave the area. Otherwise hair gets pressed to the surface of your skin. When the hair shaft is destroyed by the laser it can injure the surrounding skin. Shave a day prior to your appointment, so if you nick yourself, the area will not be bleeding during your procedure. Any method of hair removal such as waxing or tweezing will remove the deeper portions of the hair follicle which contain the "target pigmentation" and will render laser...

Laser Hair Removal, Waxing, and Plucking
Waxing or plucking does not prolong the effects of laser hair removal. It is fine to use any method of hair removal if you are not having laser treatments for a while. Other methods of hair removal will not affect the amount of treatments needed with a laser. If you do plan to have laser hair removal, please do not pluck, wax or have electrolysis for the few weeks prior to your treatment. Shaving is fine!
