Should I Wait to Get my Breast Implant Revision After I Am Done Having Babies?

I had breast augmentation surgery back in 2002. I am considering getting a revision to have bigger implants. I am 35 and have never had any babies or been pregnant. My husband and I are trying to conceive and hope to have a baby in the next year. Should I wait to have all my babies before getting a revision? Will my breast shape and size change if I get them redone before pregnancy?

Breast augmentation revision

Yes I would suggest waiting on having revisionary breast augmentation surgery until you are done having children. As you know, your breasts may change during and after pregnancy; therefore, it is best to wait in order to evaluate your final breast size/shape/symmetry before making any decisions. This course of action will minimize the chances that you will need even further surgery and decrease the risks of not being able to breast-feed. Best wishes. more

Revision of breast augmentation prior to pregnancy

No question it would be better to wait. Pregnancy and breastfeeding will result in significant changes to your breasts. Any surgery performed before pregnancy will only result in the possibility of a further revision later. All the best with starting your family.

Breast Revision

Your breast shape will likely change so waiting is a good decision, but you may not be pregnant for 3 years so are you good waiting that long? Waiting is ideal and may minimize your surgeries, but you must decide if the wait is going to be acceptable.

Breast augmentation revision

If you are planning to conceive shortly, then I would probably wait until you are done having babies before undergoing a breast revision surgery.

Wait till babies before getting breast revision

Definitely wait. If you and your husband are actively trying to conceive there's no reason to have surgery on your breasts now, when they are most likely going to change after pregnancy and breast feeding (if you choose to do so). Good luck on both fronts.

Best to delay breast implant revision

It's best to delay your surgery. Most women experience significant changes in the size and droopiness of their breasts during pregnancy; many of these changes linger post-partum. Having breast implants does not prevent these changes from happening, nor does it prevent the potential need for a lift in the future. Particularly given that you plan to have children in the relatively near future, it's best to delay your surgery. All the best - Sam Jejurikar

Bigger implants before having babies?

Hello, If you are trying to conceive I would wait to exchange your implants, especially if you're going bigger. Pregnancy will inevitably result in breast engorgement and stretching of your breast skin and larger implants will just further contribute to this process. All the best, Dr Repta
