Which Veins Are Appropriate for VNUS Closure?

VNUS Closure can be performed on almost any vein but the true indication is for the treatment of venous reflux disease and not varicose veins. Typically, it is used to 'close' the great saphenous vein to treat saphenofemoral venous reflux disease. Some surgeons also use the VNUS Closure procedure to obliterate the short saphenous vein and thus treat saphenopopliteal venous reflux (the vein system in the back of the leg).
