Prior to 2 hip replacements, I needed sinus surgery to resolve a chronic infection. Bacterial identification was done, and the appropriate oral antibiotics prescribed for 3 weeks, along with antibiotic nasal flushing. We thought it was resolved, and I had both surgeries, but now the sinus infection is back. I don't know what more we could have done to kill it. Can I live with a "controlled" sinus infection without it seeding to my hip implants?
