How to Correct Uneven Skin Tone from Sun Damage?

I'm of mixed race with a fair skin. However, I have an uneven skin tone from sun damage and I would dearly love to have all one shade again. My face is dark; my left arm (the one that sits under the sun relentlessly as I drive) is even darker, while my right arm is a color in between of them both. The rest of my body is "glow in the dark pale" according to my boyfriend. Is there anything to get all the skin one, even color again? This is not a subtle difference either, it's rather like a farmer's tan.
