Is It Uncommon to Have Watery Eyes 6 Months After an Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty?

Is it uncommon to have watery eyes 6 months after an upper eyelid blepharoplasty and canthopexy ? Not too bad indoors but a real problem outside with breezes and movement. ie not because of blocked tear ducts but it has been suggested because of the eyelids no longer massage the tears towards the ducts ? Is this a known possibility ? And can it be corrected ?

Most blepharoplasty patients are symptom free from surgery in a couple of months. Some patients have more sensitive eyes and it takes longer for the natural healing cycle to finish. There may be disorders of the eye or anatomic problems resulting from surgery that prolong the healing. Dry eyes after blepharoplasty

A photo would be useful, but it sounds like your eyes are now too open and don't fully close, which causes them to get more dry, which in turn irritate your eyes and make them tear. Consult an oculoplastic surgeon.

Watery eyes 6 months after upper eyelid surgery, is this unusual?

Yes, IMHO, at 6 months you should be completely healed from the upper eyelid surgery. You should have the surgeon examine your tear ducts and or refer you to an opthalmolgist for this evaluation. One of the ducts maybe displaced allowing tears to pool on your eye.
