Darker skin types for Fractional CO2 Laser resurfacing require care and experience
Darker skin types require much greater finesse for Fractional CO2 Laser resurfacing (e.g. Deep Fx, Total Fx, Mixto, Fraxel Repair). There is a nontrivial risk of hyperpigmentation in hands of a physician who has not had sufficient experience working with ethnic skin. Strict daily sun protection, prophylactic and post-op application of topical retinoid and prescription bleaching cream customized to your skin type would be mandatory. You really should seek the experience of a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has performed greater than 50 cases of ethnic skin as there is a substantial learning curve.
