I have a gap between my 2 front teeth and I want veneers to fix them. I had braces in the past and I am really looking for something faster. I have been told it depends on the size of the gap. I thought mine was too large but after seeing pictures of larger gaps I hope I can have them. Another issue is my front teeth rest on my lips which seems to have pushed then slightly. Looking at the pictures are veneers an option for me?
Answer: Are veneers an option? #DrSoftTouch Based on your photos, veneers alone are not going to fix your smile. You would likely need to use Invisalign (or something similar) to bring your teeth back into position or you can have full porcelain crowns placed to change the angle of the teeth. I have done this in my office many times before, but my decision always depends upon the patient's preference and timeline. Good luck and I hope this helps. Answer: Are Porcelain Veneers An Option For Me? After reviewing your photos I would say that you can have porcelain veneers that would improve your smile significantly. There are a few things that you need to be aware of though in regards to your case. 1. I am fairly certain that you are a tongue thruster. This means that when you swallow your tongue pushes up against the inside of your upper teeth. This probably has contributed to your front teeth flaring out. If you have veneers you will need to have a retainer made to wear at night to keep them from relapsing. 2. For your case to look great you will need to do more than two teeth, likely four. You would want to whiten the others first before choosing the final color for your veneers. 3. You have a cant (slant) to your smile . This means one side sits higher than the other. To correct this you would need to do eight veneers or seek a consult from an orthodontist and consider wearing braces again. If the slant does not bother you , then four veneers would be suffice. Either way, find a dentist with a great deal of experience in cosmetic dentistry and he/she will be able to really enhance your current smile! Good luck.

Answer: Can veneers close the gap betwen 2 front teeth? I would agree with the previous comments. Based on what I see in the photos provided I see 2 options:Option #1. Invisalign/ braces then 2 veneers if you still do not like the shape/ color of your 2 front teeth. This option allows the teeth to be aligned properly and creates the possibility of minimal preparation of your teeth if veneers are needed/ desired. Option #2: 8-10 porcelain restorations. This is the fastest option but you should expect significant reduction of your 2 front teeth. More than likely crowns will be needed instead of veneers. Multiple restorations (8-10) will be required to properly distribute the increased width of each tooth required to fill the spaces. The aesthetic challenge for your case will be creating new restorations that do not appear thick and bulky. Natural teeth have specific height to width proportions that need to be maintained. Cosmetic dentistry is a combination of art and science. Meticulous planning and attention to detail is required by the dentist as well as the ceramic artist. Best of luck!

Answer: Possibly From the photos that you have provided, I have a few concerns. You have extra space in between your centrals and space behind the central, at least the one on the right; #8. This tooth also has a significant outward cant. To get rid of the gaps and have the most aesthetic result, you would need veneers on your front 4 teeth at least. However, with the cant of #8, you would not be able to make that tooth appear to be less canted forward without compromising the pulp and probably end up needing root canal therapy. My advise would be Invisalign or a functional removable appliance to move the front teeth back which will also get rid of the gaps. Keeping your teeth in their natural state is always best. Good luck.
