I am about 50 & have sagging breasts. I also have thin skin and concerns about this recurring. I haven't had any large weight changes, and after I breast fed my kids, my breasts were scarred with stretch marks all over, with very little tissue not involved. I don't have pictures yet, although can provide them if necessary. I was very athletic when I was younger yet am far less active with age. My mother too had very thin skin/stretch marks.

No diet to preserve breast lifts

If your skin elasticity is really poor, a breast lift will do nicely to tighten up the laxity but it will invariable settle a little more than in the patient with better skin. Other than a healthy well-balanced diet and no wide weight fluctuations, there is nothing more you can do than to continue to wear good support even after the lift.

Best Diet for Breasts?

Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, there is no specific diet to “maintain thin skin and breast support”. Much of the issues you are concerned with have a genetic component and/or are related to weight gain/loss. Avoidance of significant weight gain/loss in the use of supportive bras may be helpful. Otherwise, a well-balanced diet complete with multivitamin/necessary minerals should suffice. Best wishes.

Thin Skin or Sagging Skin?

I am not aware of any diet which has any effect on any breast condition. Consider have a Mastopexy in you are unhappy about the sagging of your breasts. If you have adequate tissue, a full Mastopexy should give you enough fullness and lift. If your breasts are smaller, a Breast Augmentation after a Mastopexy can give you the fullness you are looking for.

Breast lift options in patient age 50

I can not make any recommendations without examining you or at leasto seeing photos of your breasts. There are several different types of breast lifts, each with its own type of incision (scar). Some women may even require a breast implant at the same time if they would like to restore the volume they once had before pregnancy. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for a complete evaluation. You should also have an updated mammogram prior to surgery. Best wishes... more

What kind of diet can maintain breast lift support?

I am not aware of any diet that will help you maintain support of your breasts following a breast lift. How well a patient's skin holds up after a lift is probably due more to genetic factors, and thin skin that has been "damaged" and stretched may be more likely to restretch to some degree. I think the best thing to do is to wear good breast support, not only in the weeks following surgery but in the longterm. Regarding your scars, I have my patients wear a... more
