I Had a Tummy Tuck Almost Two Years Ago, I Noticed That my Stomach Got Bigger After That. Why?

I had a tummy tuck on 2008, Contrary to what I spected my stomack got bigger. the doctor told that he did what he could , and It would got down if I loose weight. However, I lost pound every where, except my belly. I am 60 years old. I don't know if age could be a factor. I can wear bigger clothes to cover my stomach. My stomach does not mach my armas, legs or gluteos.

Tummy Tuck Result?

Thank you for the question. I cannot think of a reason why your “stomach got bigger” after tummy tuck surgery except that you may have gained intra-abdominal adipose tissue (visceral fat) since your surgery. If your abdomen was relatively flat after surgery and then subsequently became larger, I would be concerned about separation of the muscle repair. For your own peace of mind a second opinion may be helpful.... more
