OK to Return to Work While Drains Still in After Tummy Tuck?

I agree completely with Dr. Rand. There is NO reason why you could not go back to a desk job with your drains still in. There is no downside in doing so.

If you are otherwise doing well and have a sedentary job, you should be able to return to work with your drains in place.  I do agree that you should check with your surgeon for his/her opinion regarding this question.

If you were my patient, I would let you go back to desk work with the drain in place.  I take them out at less than 25 cc's of drainage per day.  Check with your doctor who knows you best.
