I have a 3 year old son and am only 19 years old. I notice my pubic area got larger after giving birth so I wanted to see if a tummy tuck would take sum fat away from that area. Or will they charge me more?

Thank you for your question. The "love handles" are not routinely addressed when a tummy tuck is performed however, it is very easy to perform liposuction of these areas at the same time. Addressing the Mons pubis and the love handles during a tummy tuck

During a tummy tuck, in order to obtain maximal and harmonious rejuvenation, contouring of the Mons pubis either by liposuction or direct fat excision can improve the appearance. Love handles are technically not part of a tummy tuck but can possibly be performed concurrently. You need to ask your plastic surgeon about these issues (in consultation).

Very often with tummy tuck the pubic area or mons will be reduced and lifted, and liposuction can be used on the love handles to smooth the transition hip to tummy. You should discuss this with your plastic surgeon. A little liposuction can deal with the love handles and the same can be done for the mons. You should also think about if you really need a tummy tuck at age 19, it seems a bit early to do so, especially if you are planning on having more kids.

Thank you for the question. For many patients undergoing tummy tuck surgery the pubic area may be an area of concern. This area may be large ( prominent) , ptotic (low), or deflated. What is included with tummy tuck

Those issues are usually addressed with a tummy tuck, however, all surgeons vary in this regard so be sure to clarify ahead of time with your plastic surgeon. We usually recommend that you are finished having children before undergoing a tummy tuck so that you don't have to re do it. I'm not sure if you plan on having any more but you do seem young. HI There - in my practice a mons reduction is a standard part of a tummy tuck for patients who need it, as long as the issue is some extra fullness of fat in the region of the mons. Love handles might or might not be included, depending on whether the extra extends around to the back area or not.
