Tummy tuck for stretch marks

It appears you would be an excellent candidate for a full tummy tuck.  The stretch marks both above and below the belly button will likely be much less visible, and many will be gone. Talk realistically with your prospective board certified plastic surgeon about not where the incision will be made, but where it will end up. Although in your particular case a full tummy tuck appears to be the best option, there are many more options now than just a full or a mini tummy tuck, for... more

Tummy tuck and stretch marks

You look like you are probably a good candidate for a tummy tuck based upon the photo that you display. The stretch marks usually within an ellipse from  the umbilicus down to the pubis would be removed.  All others would remain.

A tummy tuck works well to remove stretch marks

A tummy tuck is best indicated for those with stretch marks in the lower abdomen. You always be at your usual weight at the time of surgery. Don't drop weight for the surgery and then regain it after. Looks like you would be a great candidate for the surgery.

Stretch mark removal.

The fact that you can get all of the stretch marks out with an abdominoplasty does not mean that is the best treatment. There are risk  even in a 26 year old. We frequently do it to remove just stretch marks but the stretch marks can be improved by laser resurfacing and many are happy with just that.

Tummy tuck is great for removing stretch marks below the belly button

From you picture, it appears as though you're an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck!  The stretch marks below the belly button are typically removed during a tummy tuck, as well as tightening of the muscles.  As far as wearing a bikini for next summer, you should  be okay as long as you get the procedure in the next several months.  For some ideas of how you'll look, check out some before and after photos of women that have the same look as you do now. ... more

What a Tummy Tuck Does

A tummy tuck removes skin and fat from the lower abdomen and tightens the underlying muscles. Liposuction is frequently added to improve the contours of the hip and lower back when indicated. Stretch mark removal is incidental to the skin removal. In others words, when the skin is removed, the stretch marks in that skin go along for the ride (off your body).  Skin is removed from just above the belly button to the pubic region. More skin is removed centrally and the reduction... more

Body after Baby: How to get rid of stretch marks

A tummy tuck will remove the stretch marks below the belly button. Stretch marks above the belly button will be moved downward.   Thank you for the photo--very helpful!  You appear to be a great candidate for a tummy tuck and should have a beautiful result.  You can expect your muscles to be tightened to flatten your tummy.  You can expect to have loose skin removed, both above and below the belly button. And you can expect to lose those stretch marks below the... more

Some will go

The stretch marks below your belly button will be removed. Those above will move down. But you do need to be seen.

Stretch mark removal

You are an excellent candidate for a formal tummy tuck. All the skin from the belly button to the pubic hairline will be removed along with all the stretch marks in this distribution. Stretch marks present above the belly button will be relocated below the belly button. Placement of the incision will fall within your bikini line. I will ask my patients to bring a bikini bottom or undergarment which is similar in style to help me locate the final incision within this area... more

Tummy Tuck Candidate

From your picture it appears that you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck and selective liposuction.  The stretch marks below your belly button would be removed. Any stretch marks above the below button would not be removed but would be down around the incision. Dr. ES

Stretch marks on abdomen and tummy tuck.

While the vast majority of stretch marks below the belly button can be removed whereas those above may be more difficult to excise and those on the hips and back will likely remain.

Tummy tuck

Stretch marks are tears in the deeper layers of the skin.  Most physicians do feel they are permanent.  Most of yours, however, can be removed with a tummy tuck because the skin is excised.  Those above the umbilicus will remain, and in my experience, may sometimes seem a little more pronounced if the skin is snug. You should discuss this with your surgeon.

Tummy tuck removes stretch marks belly button and below

Tummy tuck effectively removes the lax skin from the level of the belly button, down to the pubis. All of the stretch marks within the area go away with it. The bikini after should be a go, especially if your surgeon is careful to keep the scar low and along the hip. If you have a suit in mind bring it along the day of your procedure so that your surgeon can plan to stay within the suit line. Best of luck, peterejohnsonmd

Tummy tuck planning

Based on your photo, you appear to have abdominal skin laxity and stretch marks above and below your belly button. A standard tummy tuck would be my recommendation. This procedure places a scar inside your bell button and a long scar low on the pelvis. Scar placement varies based on your anatomy and your surgeon's preference. I typically place TT scars low enough that a patient can wear a reasonably sized bikini without the long scar showing.

A good candidate for a tummy tuck

Based on your description and your one photo, I think you would be a good candidate for a tummy tuck.  You have mentioned some of the key factors in determining which patient will likely have a good result:  you are done having kids, you are getting close to your goal weight and are not obese, and your pictures shows excess loose skin and what seems to be loose abdominal muscles as well, both of which are improved after the procedure.  In most cases you can expect most of the... more

Tummy tuck removes stretch marks and localized fat

The photo is helpful but keep in mind that no one can give you definitive advice without personally seeing you. Tummy tucks do what you can't accomplish with diet and exercise: remove stretch marks by taking out the skin between the belly button and the pubic area where most of them are, removing the localized fat accumulation in the abdominal area, and pulling the muscles together if they have been separated from being pushed apart during pregnancy (which is typical.) It appears that... more

Good Candidate For Abdominoplasty

Based on your photo and information provided, you are an ideal candidate for an abdominoplasty.  You have a lot of loose appearing skin around the midsection of your abdomen and lower abdomen, that will stretch well and give you a nice contour.  In terms of stretch marks, you will be rid of alot of them, but those that are currently near your belly button or above it will still be present ( they will be tighter appearing though so less noticeable).  Go for a couple of... more

Tummy Tuck for Removal of Stretch Marks

Thanks for posting a photo. Best to see in person at least 3 boarded surgeon in New York. I recommend John Sherman or Barry Goldenberg in Manhattan. I think you can expect a great result but you will still have 30% of the upper abdominal stretch marks. From Miami the "real" Dr. Darryl J. Blinski 305 598 0091
