Is Tummy Tuck Safe for Patient with No Thyroid?

I exercise daily for about 1 hour or more. I weigh 180lbs but don't have a thyroid. Is it safe for me to have a Tummy Tuck? I drink maybe once a month and don't smoke.

As long as you are on appropriate levels of thyroid hormone replacement

You should be fine to have surgery as long as you are on synthetic thyroid hormone replacement. You should have your levels checked and be sure you are on a stable regimen prior to surgery.

No thyroid and Tummy Tuck

It is safe as long as your thyroid hormone levels are within normal range.  I usually have the patients have labs taken to examine their hormone levels prior to surgery.  As long as the levels are within normal range it would be okay to proceed with surgery. Good luck.

Tummy Tuck after Thyroidectomy

Hi there- The most important question is whether or not you have normal levels of thyroid hormone circulating. Whether this is your natural thyroid hormone, or synthetic hormone that you take orally is less important. As long as your thyroid hormone levels are stable (that is, you are on a stable dose of replacement), there should not be any reason you could not have a tummy tuck. Good Luck!
