I had 2 c section and the last one resulted in serious hematomas. And quite a bit of scaring. Is it still possible to get a tummy tuck even though I had such complications from a c section

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) and hematoma

The fact that you had a hematoma with previous surgery does not mean you can't have future surgery, such as a tummy tuck. In consultation with your plastic surgeon, a determination can be made as to whether there are any underlying problems that might lead to a greater probability of a hematoma (such as a clotting disorder), and it can be appropriate for your plastic surgeon to ask for a medical clearance per your primary care physician or other specialist; patient... more

Yes

Your surgeon should be able to cut through or cur out scarring that is the result of your hematomas. If your having additonal surgery, you need to have your clotting ability check by your primary care physician.

Hematomas may suggest bleeding.

Anyone can bleed during surgery, but a hematoma may suggest that you have problems with bleeding. Before undergoing surgery, you should see a hematologist to check and see if you clot normally.

TT after hematomas?

The bigger question is "are you at greater risk than normal for getting another hematoma from any surgery?" you should have a hematologist take a careful history and determine if you have risk factors for a clotting problem. If so, there are blood tests to determine your risk and what preop treatments might be necessary. ultimately, it is your surgeon's responsibility to take a careful history and lead to a specialist properly.

Hematoma and tummy tuck

Every plastic surgeon wants to avoid a complication such as a hematoma following any surgery. A hematoma can form for a number of different reasons and many times it is simply a random occurrence. Just because you had a hematoma following a c section does not necessarily mean you are at a greater risk of the same thing following a tummy tuck. However, you should try to determine if there was a specific reason you had one after your c section, such as a blood clotting disorder. It would be... more

Hematoma and tummy tuck

Having a past hematoma does not preclude you from having a tummy tuck. You also are probably not more likely to ge one with this. There will most likely be exra scar tissue in this area, bu a skilled surgeon will be able to handle thi problem.

Tummy tuck very safe even if you had previous hematoma.

Hi. When one operates on people, at least 1% of patients will get a hematoma. It does not mean anything about your health. You had one C section with no problems, right? You should just make sure you go to a plastic surgeon who has done a lot of tummy tucks, because the actual surgery may be just a little more difficult because of internal scarring caused by the old hematoma. Hematomas are usually preventable by meticulous technique, compulsive attention to stopping... more

Tummy Tuck After C-section Complications

You can have a tummy tuck after previously having a hematoma with a C-section. The scarring that you described will make the procedure more difficult, but is not in itself a contraindication to the tummy tuck.

Prior hematoma and the risks of tummy tuck

The only real question is whether you have a condition that increased your risk of having a hematoma. Most patients with hematoma do not. However, you should definitely discuss this with your surgeon, and ask whether a consultation with a hematologist to evaluate your clotting system would be worthwhile.

Do prior complications preclude tummy tuck surgery

A prior hematoma will create scar tissue near the c section scar. This is not a contraindication to tummy tuck surgery. Be aware, that even in the best of hands, complications such as hematomas may occur. Rest assured that they are uncommon and every effort is taken to prevent them. Good Luck

Previous hematoma and tummy tuck

Having had a hematoma in the past would not necessarily exclude you from having a tummy tuck, but I do think it is important to have appropriate lab tests to rule any possible clotting disorder.
