5 years after Tummy Tuck

Thank you for your question. Even after tummy tuck surgery, your body will continue to change and as we age, our muscles can become less "tight". If you are concerned about it, I would suggest seeing a board certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination and discussion of your options. Best Wishes!

Bulging After a Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck is a wonderful procedure to address the bulging abdominal muscle wall. As you age, however, the muscle and its covering (fascia) will very likely stretch over time even with regular exercise as you noted above. A consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon should provide you with a correct diagnosis and a discussion regarding correction of the bulging if appropriate. Weakness after tummy tuck

It all gets harder to maintain the older we get. It's possible that your muscles have stretched out a bit. Get a trainer to help you with strengthening for your core. If you've maxed out on that, there's not much more you can do without going back to surgery to get re-tightened.

Tummy tuck gives lasting results

A second tummy tuck is unusual, unlike face lift as aging progresses. Still, the time from age 44 to 50 can have remarkable changes to muscular strength and tone for many and it may take a greater effort to keep a flat and toned abdomen. If your exercise is not measuring up, a personal trainer or yoga group may help you maintain a better level of fitness. Best of luck, peterejohnsonmd

Muscle weakness/ protrusion 5 1/2 years post tummy tuck

The results off your tummy tuck should be long lasting. Our bodies are always changing. We are all subject to aging, gravity, and changes in our fitness and weight. The best thing to do is to see the doctor who performed your surgery so that they can evaluate you.
