When i ws 6 years old,I had an accident due to which my cheek ws cut deeply and ws stitched immediately.Now im 19 years old.The stitch marks looks white and raised.A plastic surgeon adviced for scar revision,bt thn again scar revision will only minimize the scar nt remove it,the scar might be more visible and discoloured.wHat treatment is best for my scar?i have heard of relume lasers which work on white scar..wil it give more satisfactory result thn scar revision.Note:now im using mederma gel.

W-plasty works for scar revision.
Hi.
Nothing will completely remove your scar. But only surgery can make it significantly better. Lasers will not help you.
The scar is raised, and it is in the worst possible direction (at right angles to the natural skin tension lines, which in the cheek run mostly up and down, parallel to the smile lines).
So the scar needs to be cut out. Then the edges of the wound are converted into tiny zig-zags (hence the name W plasty). This aligns each little scar...
