Possible Treatment for Hyperpigmentation on the Body Resulting from a Past Case of Folliculitis?

I regularly receive laser hair removal which has kept my folliculitus under control! I would just like to know what my possible treatment options are before going to visit a professional. I would like to be well informed and knowledgeable because some people will try to sell you anything.. I've even had some derms that claimed to be familiar with skin of color but turned out not to be--adverse results! I'm a light skinned female (Beyonce's complexion)
