What is the Best Way to Treat an Oil Burn?

My wife was accidently burned as a child with hot oil when was three that spilled on her calf area. The scar is roughly 12in long and 3in wide. I was doing some research and came upon the "Sure-closure" method for treating deformities and other things. Could this work for a burn or would laser surgery be best? Thanks.

Treating Old Burn Injuries

Burn injuries are classified by their depth. An injury severe enough to destroy into and past the hair follicles usually damages nerve endings and sebaceous glands resulting in numbness and an inability of the wound to heal with normal skin. Third degree burns can only be treated with surgical removal of the burned flesh and coverage with skin grafts.
