How Can You Treat Extreme Pain from a Mid Back Lypoma? Patient is 90 and Surgery is Not Recommended.

My father 90+ years old has a hand sized lypoma mid back near the spine. Because of his advanced age, surgery was not recommended. When it flares he is in such extreme pain that he is unable to cope. He has taken Neurontin (4-600 mg daily) which offers some help at times. Could you let me know what type of dr. is best suited to deal with this issue and what drugs might be helpful. Thank you
