What is the Best Way to Treat a Burn Scar?

On New Years eve 2010, we were standing around a fire and it was freezing, I got too close to the metal around the fire and it burnt throuhg my jeans on the inside of both my legs. I would say they were 2nd degree burns because they hurt and I had blisters the next day. I never went to the doctor, I just used neosporin and aloe on them. Now they are healed and have left horrible scars. what is the best way to make them not noticeable? I am using scaraway now. how should i cover them in the sun?
