I Got a Tonsillectomy/rhinoplasty/septoplasty/turbinectomy 6 Days Ago and I Cant Taste Any Food, Why?
I just want to know if once i get my cast off and splints taken out will food taste normal again. I am desperate I have lost so much weight but i cant eat. Sweets especially taste disgusting the taste is unbareable i never want to eat anything. Please tell me this will go away?

Loss of Taste after Septorhinoplasty at 1 Week
The swelling, debris, and internal splints are all obscuring taste by altering smell. Once all of these things are removed from the equation, the taste should return. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Dear emmyxoxo17,
Your nose is probably stuffy (like a cold) and it is preventing you from tasting food
The symptoms will improve over the next few weeks where you should begin to taste food normally again
It will get better
