5 Days after Rhinoplasty and Rash

Your surgeon should examine you in this case, but this is probably an allergic reaction due to the adhesive placed for the tape and splint. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Rash following rhinoplasty

I agree - you need to see your surgeon about this. A bit of steroid cream will help. Mostly self-limiting.

Rash on side of the nose following rhinoplasty

I would recommend contacting your surgeon right away and see what he/she advises. An exam would really be necessary to provide you with the best advice, and they will be able to best determine the cause of your irritation. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

Allergic reaction?

Based upon your description, it may be that you developed an allergic reaction to the tape or glue. Best to be seen by your surgeon.

Nose bumps after surgery

I would make sure you are seen by your Dr. It can be an allergy to the splint, an infection, or a hypersensitivity among multiple other causes.

Hey, I had the exact same thing after my op. my skin was completely fine for the first 5/6 days and then it just went really really dry/red/itchy. Whenever I got the cast off, my skin was in a terrible state - seemingly it has to do with the tape and solvent used during the op. for the first few days after the cast removal I actually looked like I had terrible sunburn all across my face. I bought e45 cream (they do one now for very very dry skin) and just made sure that I thoroughly (but gently) washed my face and then applies that. Ir cleared it all up in a day or two and people have actually been commenting on how well my skin looks since!!
