Tummy Tuck and Scoliosis

Your scoliosis will probably not be a significant factor in your abdominoplasty surgery and recovery. Tummy Tuck candidates

Many women have varying degrees of asymmetry and scoliosis with regard to their trunk. I have not seen any issues in recovery or results that are obtained. Expect temporary back pain and discomfort for 1-2 weeks until posture improves, and persistent body asymmetry.

Tummy tuck with scoliosis

The problem of scoliosis should not preclude the abdominoplasty . In fact there would be the same indications as in a non-scoliosis patient. The surgeon should be made aware of the problem at the time of the consult. You should be evaluated by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

Scoliosis and tummy tuck

A tummy tuck can certainly be done in a scoliosis patient.  Interestingly the incision shodl be double checked with the patient both lying down and standing up.

Tummy tuck with scoliosis

There are few if any precautions for patients with mild degrees of scoliosis. One interesting side effect is htat the belly button never appears to be in the center.
