4 years before i had a large lipoma at the outer aspect of my thigh a doctor removed it, but up till now i feel pain at the same site and i cannot lay down on the same side

Pain after surgery
Most probable diagnosis is neuroma.
See your surgeon, some times injection with steroids may help.
if a neuroma can be localized then it can beput deeper, and becomes less sensitive
