Thiazide not a problem with Active FX/Total FX treatments?

I'm going in for Active FX/Total FX treatments on December 12. My MD states that the Thiazide diuretic I'm taking isn't going to be a problem since I don't take it everyday. Is this true?

Thiazide diuretics or indeed any other types of diuretics should not be a problem at all. What may be a potential problem is if your body potassium is low from the thiazide diuretic. I'd make sure potassium levels are normal prior to the procedure. You see, there will be quite a bit of fluid and electrolyte loss from the treated area over the first few days after the procedure--sufficient to make an underlying electrolyte imbalance worse. Not typically a problem with thiazides as they are such weak diuretics but too high a dose of diuretic therapy can leave people in a state of constant dehydration. If this were the case, you want to make sure you increase fluid intake with, preferably sports drinks; not just water, sodas and juices.
