Is There a Very Different Skill Set Between Nasal Reconstruction and Revision Rhinoplasty?
I was wondering if a surgeon produces good result for nasal reconstruction if you would expect similar results from revision rhinoplasty? Do they draw on similar techniques or do they require a completely different skill set?

The term "nasal reconstruction" may mean a more extensive re-building of the nose from trauma, cancer or other disease states and as such would be more in the line of making the nose appear more "normal". Revision Rhinoplasty may entail some minor degree of nasal reconstruction, by building up the nasal bridge or placing cartilage grafts to the nasal tip, but IMHO this is more about making a "normal" nose more naturally attractive. To answer your question nasal reconstruction and nasal revision and quite different and do require a different skill set. If you are simply looking to have a revision rhinoplasty you should consult with a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon who specializes in revision rhinoplasty.

Is nasal reconstruction same as revision rhinoplasty?
Nasal reconstruction and revision rhinoplasty are quite different surgeries involving different techniques and different mind sets. While one physician can be expert in both, it is not always a rule.

Revision Rhinoplasty and Nasal Reconstruction
Nasal reconstruction includes treatment of noses after lose of nasal tissue after cancer excision or debilitating trauma. This is very different than a revision rhinoplasty after a cosmetic procedure.

Thank you for the question. I think what you have to decide what you need, revision or reconstruction, then do your search. The two subjects are very related. Revision nasal surgery is a very demanding procedure and require a surgeon who is very skilled and has done lot nasal surgery in both reconstruction and revision.

If by nasal reconstruction you mean for skin cancer and repairing the soft tissue defects, it is different but on the other hand, a good surgeon is a good surgeon.

Skill set for nasal reconstruction vs revision rhinoplasty
Nasal reconstruction from skin cancer is a completely different subset of surgical skills than revision rhinoplasty. There is minimal overlap between soft tissue reconstruction.
