After doing 4 eMatrix treatments, 4 Microdermabrasion sessions were recommended. What benefit will the Microdermabrasion give that the eMatrix alone will not?
What is the Purpose of Getting Microdermabrasion After EMatrix Treatments?

Combining microdermabrasion with eMatrix treatments
EMatrix affects a different level of the skin than microdermabrasion so the results of these two very different treatments are simply "complementary". EMatrix uses fractionated bipolar radiofrequency energy which is called sublative rejuvenation. Unlike fractional ablative laser treatments where most of the effect is in the superficial layers of the skin (epidermis), the eMatrix affects only 5% of the epidermis and most of the effect is in the deeper tissue (dermis). Sublative rejuvenation with the eMatrix is a very effective procedure to tighten and rejuvenate photoaged skin. It also improves mild to moderate wrinkles and acne scars. Microdermabrasion improves dull or rough skin, age spots, fine lines, and sun damage. Microdermabrasion will leave your skin feeling softer with a healthier glow to your complexion.
EMatrix and microdermabrasion
I would use these treatments as merely complimentary procedures. eMatrix is sublative rejuvenation, meaning it affects the surface slightly, but more lower depths of the skin. Microdermabrasion is a surface only treatment and even with the addition of a peel or other topicals applied, very superficially treats the skin. My assumption is that your physician recommended the eMatrix treatments to resurface the skin, and the microdermabrasion treatments to brighten the surface area.
