Whats the Longest a Expansion Can Take? (photo)

I am considering reconstruction implants seven years delayed. Is the skin and muscle going to stretch enough or will it be for nothing? I met with PS on Tuesday and feel very nervous. I asked t be a C cup.. No way I wanted the tram flap... How long does it take from the fill to the replaced permanent implant? When I went in they took measurements and photos too, would the measurements be able to tell what I can handle?I have so many questions. Why cant they use a permanent expander? Cindy

Delayed breast reconstruction

Congratulations on having been cancer free for these years. If you have had radiation, autologous (using your own tissues) is preferred to tissue expander and then implant reconstruction. in the latter case, it would take approximately 3-4 months to have your staged procedures. Best of luck.

Yes expender reconstruction is an option. I also recommend using the BRAVA external expander to help develpo a pocket. Than liposuction with enriched fat grafting to the reconstructed chest wall. Just my thoughts Regards and good luck.

I had expander put in on Sept 10th had 7 fills and waited almost five months before expander was removed final surgery April 4th I am very pleased. I did end up with a D cup. I am only two 1/2 weeks out but my surgeon said it will take two months for them to settle in... I am so glad I did it. I love the way I look... I sent my surgeon flowers as a token of my appreciation..
