Acne Scarring and lighting what makes it worse

Definitely lighting that creates shadowing. It is more likely in the darker setting where the contrast is greater with light from above casting the shadows in your scars.

Best Light to View Acne Scars

Acne scars create shadows, which highlight the imperfection.  This shadow is enhanced by shining light at an angle to the scar (side-lighting).  Acne scars repair aims to limit the depth, and therefore the shadowing, of the scar.

Side light from a window or tangential lighting from a spot light wil show every acne scar.

Side light from a window or tangential lighting from a spot light will give you the best view of acne scars including both the obvious and the subtle scars.
