The Well Being of a Patient, or Stepping on the Toes of a Colleague?

I have a few complications from a prior plastic surgery procedure in which my family, friends and I are concerned of, and it may be jeopardizing my health. My plastic surgeon just keeps saying "you should eventually heal, it just may take you longer". I attempted to seek out an opinion and or possible treatment from several board certified plastic surgeons in Las Vegas Nevada where I live and was refused by all without an attempt to find out my issues or concerns. Is this common practice?
