What is the Best Way to Attain Symmetry of Nasal Bones? (photo)

(Pic is post-op 5 weeks) I am aware that the lower-half of my nose is still swollen, but would like to ask some doctors for their expert advice on whether I should shave down my left nasal bone or build up my right nasal bone with a graft. The bridge is acceptably symmetrical IMO, but there is an obvious concave portion of my right nasal bone (the shadow). I know this is not due to swelling b/c I can feel the bones are no the same. I prefer closed surgery. What are my options? Thank you all!!!

Asymmetry of Nasal Bones

Your nose will change over the next 9-10 months as healing progresses. You should wait more than 5 weeks to see what your nose looks like before deciding what should be done to fix it. unfortunately patience is the only choice at this time.

The real answer to your question is that you need to wait several more months for swelling to subside before rushing into a revision. I realize this is easy for me to say and hard for you to do but you have a lot of weeks left for things to settle. The nasal bones can be adjusted via a closed approach but I would wait 12 months to confirm that you need something done because you may not need anything. Hope that helps, Dr Kerr
