I had an apicoectomy a year ago but my gum still feels a bit numb. I have a well fitted tray for teeth bleaching, would that weakens my gums and teeth?

Oats and protein powder won't be a problem, it seems like you're doing fine. Long term, just keep in mind that you should use a whitening toothpaste at least part of the time and that your whitening should be touched up about once a year.
If you just brush after the coffee that will do the trick if not you could consider a very light coat very light coat of vasoline good luck

Thank you for your question. Yes, do take a brake and let the gums heal. It is an effect of spilled whitening solution on the gums. It should heal up within several days. Do the best you can to stay away from the gums to prevent burning.
